Well, its such a long time since I last posted to my blog and my life seems to have changed so much since then.
At the time of posting my last blog I was having a few aches and pains. Didn't think it was anything other than just getting older, WRONG!!!. Seems I have Rheumatoid arthritis. Ah well, I suppose you'd be an extremely lucky person if you reached my age and didn't have anything at all wrong with you. At least I have something which can be dealt with in one way or another. The medication I'm on won't make it go away and won't repair the damage already done but it should stop some of the pain. I've been on it for 14 weeks and it should have kicked in by now but there's no sign of that so I'm thinking I'm one of the unlucky ones who needs additional medication.
I have come to the conclusion that whatever it takes to get rid of the pain is fine by me. At the beginning I was picky about what I was and wasn't prepared to accept medication wise. Now I don't care, just give it to me!!!!
Dinner is done and cleared away and hopefully I am going to have time between now and tea to get some ATCs done.
Peter has just taken Amy to work, she will go home again tonight but we shall see her on Wednesday as its her 20th birthday. Can't believe it, the time has flown by. She is going out for a meal with her friends tomorrow night and then they will be out on the town on Wednesday.
It seems like all my pictures on this blog are ATCs and I guess that's what I'm into at the moment. I do enjoy doing cards though, but I suppose an ATC is easier to do when time is limited.
We go to Camber Sands in Sussex two weeks today on 28th April. Hopefully we will go to Hastings and Battle of course. I just hope the weather improves!! Caravans can be awfully cold at this time of year.
Well, Friday 17th March may have been a good day for me but I spoke too soon. The following Thursday Peter had an accident in the car and it has been written off. Fortunately he was unhurt as was his passenger. So now we have to start looking for another car.
Amy came home and complained of ear ache. From this time on its been a blur of doctors, painkillers, doctors again, emergency doctors and on and on. It is now Sunday 30th March and finally it looks like the pain is easing. I don't know whether she'll go back to uni or not tomorrow, we shall have to see how today goes first.
On the bright side, I managed to get a couple of ATCs done last night, here they are.
The torn paper is actually a piece of watercolour paper left over from another project. Moral of the story, never throw anything away! The numbers and Artist stamps are both by Paper Artsy. The ATC above has a background which, again, was a mistake. I brayered colour onto watercolour paper instead of glossy card stock. But I thought it worked well with what I was planning for this ATC. The centre strip is also an off cut from a piece of paper I marbled. All the stamps are Paper Artsy.
I am now 64 years old (since 24th Nov 2011. I am married and have been for 46 years on 17th Dec 2011. We have two daughters who are 44 and 24 this year. Eldest daughter (Sarah) has a Bsc in Paediatric nursing and is a Health Visitor, and the youngest (Amelia) has a Bsc in Psychology and is working with people with learning difficulties. She will be starting a nursing degree in September and we will be running out of wall space for all the graduation photographs.
